Mostly just quotes, pictures, and links I find interesting. Probably won't do any original writing.
Have you ever thought about it? We want to be famous as a writer, as a poet, as a painter, as a politician, as a singer, or what you will. Why? Because we really don’t love what we are doing. If you loved to sing, or to paint, or to write poems, if you really loved it you would not be concerned with whether you are famous or not. To want to be famous is tawdry, trivial, stupid, it has no meaning; but, because we don’t love what we are doing, we want to enrich ourselves with fame. Our present education is rotten because it teaches us to love success and not what we are doing. The result has become more important than the action. You know, it is good to hide your brilliance under a bushel, to be anonymous, to love what you are doing and not to show off. It is good to be kind without a name. That does not make you famous, it does not cause your photograph to appear in the newspapers. Politicians do not come to your door. You are just a creative human being living anonymously, and in that there is richness and great beauty. Jiddu Krishnamurti (via commondense)

To stand here and try to fix her life is just a big waste of time. People don’t want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messes cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown. Chuck Palahniuk (Survivor)
It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show from happiness. We learn so little from peace. Chuck Palahniuk (Diary)

Little solace comes
to those who grieve
when thoughts keep drifting
as walls keep shifting
and this great blue world of ours
seems a house of leaves

…moments before the wind.

The big reason why folks leave a small town,” Rant use to say, “is so they can moon over the idea of going back. And the reason they stay put is so they can moon about getting out.” Rant meant that no one is happy, anywhere Chuck Palahniuk (Rant)
Havermeyer was a lead bombardier who never missed. Yossarian was a lead bombardier who had been demoted because he no longer gave a damn whether he missed or not. He had decided to live forever or die in the attempt, and his only mission each time he went up was to come down alive Joseph Heller (Catch 22)
